The Spotting online shopping scams lesson focuses on the most common types of fraud, scams and identity theft. Students will explore the different contexts where fraud and scams take place and learn about how to protect themselves from becoming victim to them.

Lesson learning outcomes

By the end of the lesson students will be able to:

  • Understand the difference between some of the most common types of fraud, scams and identity theft.
  • Explore the different contexts where fraud and scams take place, and how to protect themselves from becoming victim to them.

They also develop students’ core transferable skills such as problem solving and communication. 

These resources align to the Young Money Financial Education Planning Framework and have been awarded the Young Money Quality Mark.
