At present we are looking into how work experience will take place going forward and will update the work experience page as soon as we have a further update.

However, we are now offering an online work experience programme for young people aged 14-19 in the UK. It starts on Monday 3 July 2023, with a live session every day that week, plus online activities and chances to hear from Barclays colleagues and ask them questions. The deadline for applications is 30 June 2023. Young people can find out more here.

Students and educators can also still access Virtual Work Experience, an online interactive activity where they can experience the first day of work experience. We also offer an accompanying lesson plan for educators.

With regard to our suspension of face-to-face placements, we hope you will understand that our priority must be to protect the health and wellbeing of students and colleagues. We will continue to monitor the situation and will update this page as soon as we have a further update.

Please email us at barclayslifeskills@barclays.com so that we can take your details and contact you once the system is up and running again. Please note that once placements become available again, you will need to allow 4-6 weeks to organise them.

In the meantime, students and teachers can still access Virtual Work Experience, an online interactive activity where they can experience the first day of work experience. We also offer an accompanying lesson plan for educators.

Student resources: young people can also kick start their journey by working through LifeSkills content independently, dependent on their life stage, for example ‘At School’ ‘At College’ etc. Now is an ideal time to get them started on supporting their financial wellbeing with ways to help keep their information and money safe as well as managing debt. They can then focus on the practical employability skills such as Virtual interview practice tool, CV builder, CV Tips, LinkedIn, Independent living, different types of interviews and Practice online assessment tests.
