Teach them to be digitally savvy
The modern workplace is a connected place, which means it’s important for young people to think about how they come across online.
Whether it’s sending an email and not thinking about how it’s going to be read, or tweeting about your boss (!), there are loads of things young people need to be cautious about at work. Here’s just some of the lessons LifeSkills explores:
- Thinking about what they say online – and learning about their digital footprint. Things said online are there forever.
- Using the internet to communicate at work is great, but how do people read emails? They can’t see body language or hear a tone of voice.
- Our ‘Send the right message’ tool can help young people, who are new to the workplace, understand how they can communicate well.
